What Would Make Me Buy and Play More Nintendo Wii Games
The Nintendo Wii is a smash success, but not with a lot of serious, hardcore gamers.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. With a few years left in the Wii’s lifecycle, now is a good time to go after those serious gamers. My suggestions, or what would make ME buy/play more Wii games:
Serious Gamer – What Would Make Me Buy and Play More Nintendo Wii Games
What do you think? What would you suggest Nintendo do to reach more hardcore gamers?

It depends on what hardcore gamers we’re talking about. I’m all for more full featured RPGs (Pokemon included) and some great tactical games, but the Mad World end of the spectrum just doesn’t work all that well. (Though again, there’s a huge difference between “mature” and “M rated”. The ESRB must be Orwellian.)
First, obviously make games for gamers. Fire Emblem gets a lot of play on the Wii as does Baroque. I tried Mad World, it was interesting, but too much fighter not enough story.
I loved Overlord and Dungeon Keeper. I was excited about the Wii Overlord, but first they dumbed it down, secondly for a product BUILT for the system it was very glitchy. The original 50.00 Price tag gave me a shock. So if you MAKE a game for the system make sure it runs smoothly on it. Do not overprice it.
Third, the connectivity is getting better but it is still not smooth. I would LOVE to get into something that is a MMO type game, but it took 3 or 4 tries to download 1 chapter of Monkey Island.
That btw might be the trick, the games I have my eye on and am considering getting are nostalgia games, Monkey Island, The Secret of Mana, why those? They are well written and have a story that is not one I can see the first 3 minutes and tell you everything that is going happen. Come on – Dreamcast had better graphics and less technology, you can’t tell me that it is not POSSIBLE to make a good looking game that runs well on the Wii. You just have to actually hire gamers to write the games.
The length of time have you been employing this style? I was seeking something like that for my own website.
